Good morning, Y'all!
Today's agenda:
Warmup:
Look at the New York Times website for today's front page.
Note the photograph the editorial staff chose to lead with. Note the story they chose to lead with. Look at the other photographs and stories for today. In your blog, note which story and photo YOU would have chosen to lead with and why.
Assignment Sheet should have:
1. Participation grade for working on storyboard in class.
2. Storyboard grade
3. Daily grade for adding assignment sheet to your blog and keeping it up to date.
4. Participation grade for working in class today--either as a group or by yourself--to understand manual settings on your camera and how they work. Earn an A for diligent, meaningful work and making a breakthrough in your understanding and blogging your breakthrough. Earn a B for working hard and having a good attitude. Earn a C for going through the motions. Earn a D for (D)istracting others.
5. Story telling photo series/photo essay. Due date--November 4! It's a major grade!
Please know that I will not be able to accept latework from those who are not using their class time wisely.
Today's class work:
Explore two online camera simulation programs:
1. Camerasim.com
2. http://canonoutsideofauto.ca/play/
Take the challenge on Canon's outside of auto simulator. Blog about your findings and challenges. How well did you do?
When you are finished with those, get one of our class cameras and explore the buttons that control aperture and shutter speed and ISO. If you can't figure out how to change the f-stop and shutter speed and ISO on your own, please go to the Canon website and find the instructions for the particular camera model you are using.
